Well, first off… If you like the site and everything, yeah… Claude. I told it what I want, yea or nay to things it offered up until this as the result.
Without using Claude, this place would be… Horrible. I would have just gone with the standard site at WP itself with whatever theme/style settings I could find that I liked.. Instead, this is being hosted somewhere as a WP site with bbForums set up.
Now, while all this was going on, I told Claude this in the ‘preferences’ section, or whatever it is that it actually remembers: that I do not know code. That it would have to go step by step and detail each thing we were doing. Change code? Sure, tell me where to find it, why we’re changing it and what we’re changing it to. I learned some things, which was the point of how I had it work.
The graphics, limited though they are, were also done through Claude.
I have used Claude as a brainstorming and soundboarding tool for the series, using it to find hard science to back up some ideas, to tell me, realistically, whether something would be feasible within an expected increaese over time of technologyand capability.
I have told it the ideas, the plans and backstory to get things rolling for my writing. It has provided feedback that I have overruled and rejected, as well as stuff that made me think (in general and about the series). From responses I’ve seen different directions I could take the series and a few things that may or may not work. Oh and it telling me MANY times what ‘should be done to get seen on Royal Road’, until I told it to stop.
Now, what I will NEVER use Claude or any AI for: the actual writing or editing.
I already am somewhat obsessive over spelling and grammar, so I’m probably going to be called out on that. There will still be typos, too many commas and words used more than probably ‘recommended’ on a page.
